PTFE (Teflon™) O-rings are recommended for
- surface wear,
- resistant to corrosion and abrasion
- chemically inert.
- It has a temperature range of -100-degrees F to 500-degrees F.
- It is rigid and better for static applications.
PTFE (a generic compound of Teflon™, a trademark of the Chemours Company). An O-Ring seal is a means for closing off a passageway preventing an unwanted escape of a gas or fluid and comes in a donut shape. Standard or Imperial sizes come in fractions of an inch.
